Introduction

Dear sailors, on this page you'll find the key information about our Saronic Gulf sailing tour with departure from Athens or Lavrion marina.

The Saronic Gulf is the perfect destination for relaxed sailing - short legs between islands, gentle seas without extreme winds and a perfect balance of history and nature.

Route

Islands and stops along the way

The tour combines the most famous Saronic islands - from well-known Aegina and uninhabited Moni to car-free Hydra and entirely wild Dokos.

Aegina

Aegina is a beautiful island known for its famous pistachios, grown here for centuries and considered among the finest in Greece.

It's rich in historical sights, with two standouts: the grand Saint Nektarios monastery, one of the largest Orthodox monasteries in Greece, and the magnificent Temple of Aphaia, built around 500 BC.

We visit both sites on the first and last day of the tour. Here you can taste and buy pistachio liqueur, a great gift to bring home.

Moni island

Moni is a small uninhabited island opposite Perdika on Aegina. Today it's a protected nature reserve with deer, roe deer, goats and peacocks roaming free.

The east side has a calm bay in a pine forest with crystal-clear water - ideal for anchoring and swimming.

A trail leads through the forest to the top of the hill, where a stone house and a viewpoint open up a 360° panorama of the entire Saronic Gulf. Visitors often bring food for the deer, which are tame and approach people.

Poros

Poros is a volcanic island with an indented coast, full of small bays and hidden beaches. It's known for its pine forests and the 18th-century Zoodochos Pigi monastery.

It's a destination that combines a well-kept harbor, a relaxed evening atmosphere and quiet bays perfect for swimming and resting during the day.

Hydra

Hydra is a car-free island, known for its authentic atmosphere, stone houses and slower pace of life. Many small beaches stay quiet most of the year.

Hydra town, where we plan to spend the night, is full of white-stone houses tucked into narrow lanes - perfect for an evening stroll.

Dokos

Dokos lies south of Hydra and is completely uninhabited. Its highlight is a wide bay on the north side, where we plan an evening, sunset and overnight at anchor in total silence.

It's one of those places where the sea, the silence and nature are felt in their purest form.
